Love is the Answer

We are born of love; Love is our mother.
~Rumi

The number five in Lemurian Numerology is the number for Love—the unconditional Love of the Creator within us all. How perfect is it then that in May, the fifth month of the year, we celebrate this love within the self, Mother’s Day and the nurturing love of the feminine light everywhere?

In the light of Mother's Day, I'd also like to honor the mothers in our lives who have passed on to new journeys in the Creator’s Light as my mother, Aileen, did. Her gracious smile, tireless spirit and courageous healing journey were a huge inspiration to me. Though I miss her very much, I interact with her spirit light often and know that she is happy where she is now. (More about my mother’s healing journey)

Holding Mother Earth and All Those upon Her in Love

Perhaps the greatest mothering energy that we all have to honor is that of our planet, Mother Earth. In our Meditation for Mother Earth each month, we focus first on feeling our own love—our own heart light—connecting that into Mother Earth’s heart light and then creating a weave of love around the planet. Not all of us are able to go to parts of the world that need help, but we can send healing light, and as we send this light around the world, the focus is first on the love within the self.

You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.
~ Buddha

So, with all the challenges, fears and frustrations that life often puts in our path, how can feeling this self-love help us in our lives every day? To that question, I received this answer:

Love is the answer to every question, every problem or challenge that you may feel. Love will surround anything and create a path of clarity to guide your every motion. Start with your Love for Self. Start there and see if it doesn’t provide you with a path on which to walk to reach your goals and guide you through your days.

You are all here to be the love that you are and to hold a balance of love for yourself, Mother Earth and everyone upon her. When life seems frustrating it means that you are outside of this love. You are separating yourself from this love. In the sense of limitation you are creating, you are not allowing yourself to feel your own love.  ~Mother Ulura

A Deeper Meaning of Love

In the Hawaiian language, aloha is the word for love, yet it also means peace, compassion, kindness, mercy and so much more. In a lovely article called the Deeper Meaning of Aloha, Curby Rule says, "Aloha is being a part of all, and all being a part of me. When there is pain, it is my pain. When there is joy, it is also mine. I respect all that is as part of the Creator and part of me."

There is also something in these islands called the Aloha Spirit--a feeling of love and acceptance. In fact, there is actually an Aloha Spirit Law which says, "Aloha Spirit is the coordination of mind and heart within each person. It brings each person to the self."

In this spirit of aloha, please join me in sending healing light to hold all parts of Mother Earth experiencing conflict, war, and earth-shifting energies, including Nepal, Tibet and those areas devastated by the recent earthquake. In doing so, may you also feel the boundless love for self within.

With Aloha-
